The question of "who is Jesus" is a powerful 3 worded question. We find that: Jesus asked His disciples the same thing, "Who do men say that I, the Son of man, am"? (Matthew 16:13)
Of course they all said some one different, John the Baptist, Elias, Jeremias, or one of the prophets. Jesus was not content with that answer and He asked again, as He is asking us today "Whom say ye that I am"? Ol' Brother Simon Peter spoke up and answered Jesus and said, "Thou are the Christ, the Son of the Living God."
Jesus told Simon Peter, " Blessed are thou, for flesh and blood hath not revealed it unto thee, but thy Father which is in heaven."
Friends, Jesus is the supreme sacrifice that had been offered to take our place so that our sins could be forgiven and we could get back into right relationship with God, as it was to be when God created man and woman and placed them in the Garden of Eden, before the fall.
We can only get back in right relationship with God and then spend eternity with Him, if we accept this true Supreme sacrifice and ask Jesus Christ to Come into our hearts, forgive us of our sins, be sorry for our sins (this is repentance), then turn from those sins, find ourselves a Bible teaching church, pray, read the Word daily, and let Jesus Christ be the Lord of your life.
Harden not your heart for we are not promised a tomorrow. Scripture tells us in Hebrews 3:7-8 "Wherefore (as the Holy Ghost saith, To day if ye will hear his voice, harden not your hearts..." and in Proverb 27:1 " Do not boast about tomorrow, for you do not know what a day may bring."
When hearing the Word of God, have you felt a "tug" at your heart, a sense that you are unworthy of God's grace, too much of a mess for God to accept you? If you have, He IS speaking to you. He IS reaching out to you. He IS calling you.
The truth of the matter is that we are a mess. We are unclean. We are lost. We have nothing to offer that will be good enough to pay for our failures and shortcomings. But GOD! God made a way to not only pay for our spiritual debts, He made a way to bring us into His presence.
He is reaching out to you to offer you the greatest gift. He has offered us ALL the gift of His Son, Jesus Christ and by Him, salvation. It does not matter where you have been, what you have done. It only matters where you are going. Your sin is not too great for God to forgive. He forgives ALL who call upon Him: the thief, the gossip, the complainer and yes, even the abusers, the addicts, the murderers and the sex offenders. There is no sin too great for God to forgive.
With God by your side, you can learn to walk as living examples of Christ's love. We won't tell you life will be perfect or easy. It does take prayer, reading the Word of God and obedience (not legalism) to His word. But God is on your side and "fear not them which kill the body, but are not able to kill the soul; but rather fear him which is able to destroy both soul and body in hell."
Don't ignore the tear, cry, tug of your heart. God is saying to you "Come. Accept my Son's sacrifice. He paid it all for YOU." You don't have to be perfect before you come because walking with Christ is a journey. Just Come. Feel the heavy weight of your burdens; lay them at the feet of Jesus. Lay everything, all sins and all wrongs, anything that makes you feel so unworthy of such grace, and lay them at his feet. If it helps, picture yourself being at the foot of the cross. Let God's forgiveness and grace wash over you as rushing waters. Let it cleanse you from deep inside your heart.
You can accept Christ where you are, right now. You have the gift to ask for forgiveness and speak on your own behalf. If you want to speak or pray with someone, you may contact us at any time. We would love also to hear from you if you have accepted Christ or have any questions. (Contact Us Here)
We want to share His love to you through our words and our actions. Our prayer is that God will use us to share His message. He loves you. We love you. May God's love, grace and mercy shine through those around you who profess Christ and may you become the vessel God uses to shine for others.
Salvation is deliverance from danger or suffering. In Biblical terms "salvation" concerns eternal, spiritual deliverance. After the fall in the Garden of Eden, God made a way for us to escape the penalty for sin.
In order to get to heaven, Jesus told Nicodemus in John 3:3 that unless a man be born again (saved) he can not see the kingdom of heaven.
The question becomes what do we need "saved" from?
Romans 5:8 and 9 - "But God commendeth His love toward us, in that while we were yet sinners, Christ died for us,. Much more than being now justified by His blood, we shall be saved from wrath through Him."
1 Thessalonisans 5:9 and 10 - "For God hath not appointed us to wrath, but to obtain salvation by our Lord Jesus Christ. Who died for us, tho whether we wake or sleep we should live together with Him."
Our sin had separated us from God as Romans 6:23 tells us "For the wages of sin is death, but the gift of God is eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord."
It was through Christ's death and resurrection that we can be saved. Romans 5:10 "For if when we were enemies, we were reconciled to God by the death of His Son, much more being reconciled, we shall be saved by his life."
We are saved by faith
First we hear the Gospel of Jesus Christ - Ephesians 1:13 "In whom ye also trusted after that ye heard the word of truth the gospel of your salvation, whom also after that ye believed ye were sealed with that Holy Spirit of promise."
Second we must believe - we must fully trust the Lord Jesus. Romans 1:16 "For I am not ashamed of the Gospel of Christ, for it is the power of God unto salvation to everyone that believeth to the Jew first and also to the Greek."
Third, you must repent. You must change the way you think about sin. Acts 3:19 "Repent therefore and be converted so your sins may be blotted out when the times of refreshing shall come from the presence of the Lord."
Fourth, you must call on the name of the Lord - Romans Chapters 9, 10 & 13 "that if thou shall confess with they mouth the Lord Jesus, and shall believe in thine heart that God hath raised him from the dead, thou shall be saved. For with the heart a man believed unto righteousness, and with the mouth confession is made unto salvation. For whosoever shall call upon the name of the Lord shall be saved. "
Salvation is the deliverance of God's grace from eternal punishment. Salvation can be gained only through Jesus alone.
